Thanks Jeff and Cheryl. I definitely had beginner's dumb luck on my first dulci and got the action good on that from the start. This dulci has no such luck. I already broke 2 strings with all the tightening and un-tightening every time I file down the nut, bridge and frets a little more and then check it. Now I think the nut is too low...Last time I followed the directions very closely, this time not so much
Thank you Sam, Dana and Patty. Dana, act now, yes it was a kit and they are now on sale for less than I paid until the end of the month. You will need some type of circular or jig saw to rough cut the top and bottom shape and then a router to finish the edges after glueing. If you have that, you can do this girl! http://www.harpkit.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MK&Product_Code=tearkit&Category_Code=sale
Nice looking dulcimer, Wendy. Good job.

Beautiful!! How does she sound??
Dana, here are the various soundhole rosette options. I think this one has the flower rosette, but they do have a snowflake. http://www.harpkit.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=rosettes
