                                Alabamians: here's one especially for you! Edna Gockel-Gussman wrote this tune in 1917 (no copyright found, even in a sheet music edition; I think this one is "property of the people") to accompany the poem by Julia Tutwiler, and the song was adopted by the state in 1931.
                            
                        


Wow, that is a pretty song! You play it very well.
I am a tad embarrassed. Typical Hippie child, I thought my state song was California Dreamin'. I had to look it up, "I Love You California" words by F.B. Silverwood, music by A.F. Frankenstein 1913.
