James, for me EBB is more a functional choice, an occasional necessity. I generally like my DAA, but singing with it can take me to the very bottom of my vocal range (especially when I have a tired voice like I do at the end of Easter services). Cranking up a bit really helps that "all" at the beginning of the second line sound a little more like singing and less like croaking.
