He doesn't live far from me...but haven't seen him in a while. Good for him!!! I'm looking forward to seeing him. Gonna go to his retreat this October....wanna go??
Thanks James and Guy! I love that old Jeffreys....its so sweet. As you can see by the fretboard wear, someone loved this dulcimer for many years before it came into my hands.
Great video Cheryl! My first dulcimer was a Jeffreys which I bought years ago before I even started playing, but then sold to someone I knew from an autoharp discussion list. What tuning you using, and I can't quite place the song?
Hi Kevin, its #1666. I was surprised by the accuracy of the frets. Before buying this dulcimer I read as much as a could on the maker and understood that it would likely need fret work in order to be in tune, even in tune with itself. Luckily this dulcimer have some frets that are dead on and the ones that are slightly sharp or flat are only so by a few cents...hardly an audible amount.

Thanks for saying that Wayne. I'll check that out first.
Patty, yes definitely. I keep running into deals I can't seem to pass up! Some will be sold.......not the oldies though! My McSpadden cherry changed homes last week. :(
Thanks everyone. Rob, I do seem to keep falling into them...hope my luck continues ...well...if my wallet can keep up. I've sold two guitars (ones that I hardly play) for funds. You can get a whole lotta used dulcimers for the price of one guitar! :) Sam and Jim....thanks friends. Carrie..thanks chica...ya gotta love Goodwill. I found a 100% Cashmere sweater too....for 5 bucks with the store tags on. Love a bargain! I visit all our thrift stores regularly...it really is amazing what you can find on the cheap! :)
Those Jeffreys dulcimers are sweet! Before Goodwill online got to be as popular as it is now, I bought both a Bob Mize (of Foxfire 3 fame) and a Keith Young from Goodwill. I've since sold the Mize (due to soft tissue problems with my hands, I couldn't tune it properly) and still have the KYoung teardrop (that's been fitted with planetary tuners). Each of them was had for under $100 including shipping.

Saw him last weekend. He has lost some SERIOUS weight and looks great!
Thanks JK! It was only three months into my dulcimer playing....I was already happy about the stick! :)
Spending this next week with Don Pedi.....back to the fingerdancing!
Don't know how I missed this one before...well done and a great find!
Very nice!!

Thanks Wayne! Not sure what happened or is something with the setup changed. Will troubleshoot at some point or use my tascam recorder instead.
Robin, If your K. Young ever needs another home, I know where it could go where it would be well loved. :) :)

Sounds good Cheryl. Are you getting bit by DAD, dulcimer acquisition disease? LOL. Looks like this dulcimer found a good home

That dulcimer could not have happened to a nicer person. Play 'er sweet, Cheryl.

You just keep finding the good ones.
It's crazy the things people toss out!
Nice job, Cheryl.
