Don Pedi's book "Old-Time Sacred Music for Mountain Dulcimer" has this song and a bunch of other really OLD-school songs (in a lot of unusual tunings), all in noter-and-drone style. My "2nd verse" playing of this song was inspired by Mr. Pedi's version (DAA tuning), and a YouTube video of Johnny Cash and his mother singing it.
I've heard several different versions of this song, my favorites being from the Man in Black, the talented kids from Daves Highway, and the delta-bluesy version from the Staple Singers, and have yet to find one I didn't like

Nice, Unclouded Day is a song I play almost everyday, it's a song I often use to demonstrate what a dulcimer sounds like to the public. May I give you some advise ?... try to loosen up your right wrist... Bob

Hi Greg, Thanks for bringing an old favorite out and sharing it.
This is lovely to listen to, Gregory.

Hi Jeffery,
This is some sheet music I found on the web ... not quite the way I play it myself( but that's not unusual though ).
The chorus is before the verse, which is unusual, so I've put a line between the two, if i helps.
I've TABed it for Ionian. If you want Lydian add 3, if you want Mixalydian add 4.
Post back if you want help with the tuning.
got any tabs for that in noter drone style ?
Thanks for the tip!
