I'm staying at The Top of the World in Tallassee, TN, and the community lies in an area called The Flats, on a spur of Chilhowee Mountain in eastern Tennessee. Even though the air temperature is in the 70s today I can tell you the water temperature is not! This is my version of Pretty Betty Martin.
This sounds so good, Mark! I love the free spirit vibe that's coming across in your playing, too! You have come quite far since you started this dulcimer journey...and now you're playing on instruments that YOU have made! Woo Hoo!!!
If my mom is listening from heaven, I'll bet she's got a big grin on her face, 'cause she was following your early progress with this song--she'd be delighted with how far you've come (and she'd give you extra points for playing it while the swing was moving!)
How did you miss "Pretty Betty Martin" during Dulcimer School, Dusty? It was featured in the reading hands segments.
Nice. Nice playing. Nice weather. Nice swing. Makes me want to learn that song, too.
Wonderful playing and porch swing Mark. Have a great break!
Very nice arrangement.
Thanks for the kind words!
It was so pretty up here until it wasn't! I wrote about it here: http://kickingboots.blogspot.com/2017/03/tallassee-tn-top-of-world.html .
Big smiles to all y'all!
On a swing, 70-degree temperatures, a dulcimer-- so fine! Nice job on the tune, Mark!
Cool. My version is very similar
Sounding yummy!
