My latest build is a Scheitholt. The fact that it is fretted across all of the courses rather than just the melody course might disqualify it from being considered a Scheitholt in which case it might be considered a long, thin dulcimer type thingy.
The Scheitholt is 36" long overall with a depth of 2" and a maximum width of 6". It's tuned DAd but with a VSL of about 27" and quite a low action the strings can "buzz" a little sometimes. I shall experiment with a higher tuning or a taller bridge to raise the action once it's played in a little more.
Vey nice build. Whatever you call it, just enjoy playing it. If it were mine, I would call it a dulcimer.

"The dulcimer sings a sweet song."
Looks great. What its called does not matter so much.
How does it sound?
I like it, no matter what it's called.
