The other day I posted the tabs for "Streets of Laredo": http://mountaindulcimer.ning.com/xn/detail/3745489:Topic:596382 Someone asked me whether these tabs were meant for strumming or fingerpicking style. The answer is: for both. The tabs just show the basic chords for the left hand. It depends on the player what he does with his right hand...This is not a brilliant video (and I am headless as well) - it just shows how I play it, in both styles. Enjoy!
Thank you all for taking the time to listen and comment!
@Jan Potts: I just checked it in front of the mirror - my head's still there...
Nice comparison of the two styles!
Until further notice, all newbies must assume dulcimer players have heads whether observed or not!!!
Very nice example of both styles - and a song that sounds really nice on the dulcimer!
Thank you for sharing!
Peter, yes, I did print the tab you posted. Thank you very much for demonstrating both techniques. I haven't quite learned fingerpicking. Although I've tried it a few times, strumming is still my main style. Thanks again Peter
