Hey, Caleb, I'm pretty sure that that flute song I helped you make into a movie is no longer available because I deleted my Vimeo account. So sorry! So if it's still here on FOTMD, you should delete it to avoid confusion.
Hi Caleb, note...I commented on my last message about the kit build you did in 2012.
I would like to hear about Flute Quest you are going to this week end....Oh have Fun!
WhoooHoo Caleb, have fun building your Dulci Kit, I will want to hear about that.
Wanted you to know I changed my mind and bought a White Ceday key of "A" N.A. Flute from High Spirits. It is the Sparrow Hawk, one that I think will be easy for me to learn to play and I like Odell's instruction.
I should be getting it the end of the week and I will let you know how I am doing and how I like it.....Lexie
Thanks Caleb, this is the beginner flute I think I will buy. I want to start to learn with a basic inexpensive one that is easy for lil' girly and I to begin with. I think I will order it this week.
I'll be talking to you about it and I enjoy chatting with you also.
How was the gathering involving the salt water fish??
Hi Caleb, thanks for talking to me about NA Flutes. I found some made by J. Thompson on e-bay that I am considering. They look like they are the beginner style and very affordable. I will let you know if and when I do it.....Lexie
Hi Caleb, I saw you were going over strumming technique, the link is to a great You Tube video on strumming technique which I use. I do about the first 6 ok, but need to practice over and over cause I am a beginner and strumming and noting at the same time seems to trip me up, but it will come.
Also in Strumelia's video's she has noter/drone and strumming techniques.
Us newbee's need to stick together and help each other out when we can.
Caleb, thank you for posting the incredible version ofAmazing Grace. What type of flute is it on and how did you get the echo effect?
We moved to the lake Sawyer resort In the Black Diamond/Maple Valley area.
I am a beginner also and it would begreat to get a group start let me know your thoughts.
Caleb, i sent a reply from my phone but it didn't go through. i have tried to meet up with other folks in the area but it hasn't worked out. There is a group that meets in Bellingham monthly--they are listed on the everything dulcimer site. There is a workshop in Corbett Oregon the first weekend in June ( be sure to go in 2015, Bing Futch will be there) and Heidi Mueller's summer camp in Willowa (sp?) every summer. the best instructional tool I have found is David Schnauffer's DVD. Available on Amazon or through FolkCraft or Elderly Instruments.
I am an advanced beginner, I think. I would be happy to come your way some day if we can work out the schedule. Havwe fun.--David
I expect to get my dulcimer kit today!! wooo hooo I'm excited to start building.
