Beautiful piece. Love the accent line on the top. I recently purchased an old dulcimer from ebay. The nut and saddle/bridge was very high on it. So much so that I didn't consider it playable. I lowered them. I wonder if there is a reason for such high string heights? The finger board is very thin on the one I have, so it's not a good instrument to try to play with a noter. The only reason I could find for the high nut/bridge on this one is that when I lowered the nut, the strings were too high to stay in the grooves (the tuners themselves were too high). So... I made and place a spacer on the back of the tuning head to lower the height of the tuners. It's a sweet sounding little teardrop but I do wonder at some of the construction in dulcimers
Glad you have this one home Cheryl. Awaiting a song played on it.
Ben ROCKS! :) I was a teency bit apprehensive about the purely diatonic fretboard. Within 15 minutes I understand why I don't really need a 6.5 in 1-5-5. The dulcimer has taught me more about music since May than the whole bunch of money spent on formal music training! Sheesh...someone just should have handed me a dulcimer when explaining about music theory and my grades would have been better! :)

Enjoyed the video, learned and lot. I think you could sit on the back porch with Benand tall glass of iced tea and pack in some knowledge.
Ben's video about the repair and he plays a couple tunes!!
