I have been reading _Younger Next Year_, and it is changing my life!!! ~and trickling down to my husband~
My 10yod has recorded me on my camera. That's about all I can muster! LOL!
I'd probably drink a little bit, pour a little into the recipe, drink a little more, pour a little more... SOUNDS DELICIOUS!!!!
Bring a Torch is my very, very favorite! Was "I Wonder as I Wander" mentioned? OH I have enjoyed reading this and what you are doing!!!!
Thank you, Ken! ~I appreciate you so very much~
So as I keep on, I am playing well until the 11th fret. Sounds out of tune every time. I think I'll just cut those songs out of my Christmas repertoire for now... LOL!
God bless you and yours, John and Paul. I'm sorry for your loss.
Thank y'all!!! SO MANY GOOD THINGS HERE!!!! Let me read and re-read for awhile... Y'all are a TREASURE TROVE!!!!
I am in love with playing the bass string on my Wren Feather Dulcimer! Somehow it's easier than on my bigger dulcimer and sounds amazing!!! Still haven't reached upwards of the seventh fret though....
Thank you, Dan! I don't seem to get much practice on those high notes until I start practicing Christmas music, and honestly I'm always kinda glad of that! LOL!
Is there a trick to it? Whenever I get above the ninth fret it never sounds so good. Sometimes it even sounds out-of-tune! Do you have any tips for me? TIA!
Terry, please share pics of your ocarina when it arrives! I used to want one very badly, so I will live vicariously through the many vids you will share....
This is awesome! ~I cannot sew a lick~ Love that this was about sewing and not where human waste goes....
LOL~y'all are awesome! We have a plenty of builders though... Maybe it's a request someone could fill?
OH that's a purty little thing!!!!
I've always wanted to learn to play harmonica, Bob, and your sharing may just be the kick I need... Thank you so very much!
~great question~ Sorry for you pain and hope you find relief!
I also love the chopstick idea for my little Wren~THANK YOU, LEXIE!
I think the "Walker Texas Ranger" theme song would be perfect around a campfire... :P
Thank you! ~now to learn how to read chords~ :/
Which of the books do you have, Ken and Doug? LyriChord or Tune Book?
This past weekend was our church retreat, and I did get to play for vespers around the campfire. I played "Awake Harp and Lyre" based on Psalm 108 from Margaret Wright TAB. A youngun' became my personal music stand, and we positioned flashlights to shine on the music. The rest of my playing was around camp and campfire during the day, so no issues! LOVE my little Wren, "Teagan", from Feather Dulcimer!!!! ~she was quite the hit and is inspiring others to love the md~
THANK Y'ALL! Our church retreat starts tonight, and then I will work on a sound clip! ~still SO HAPPY~ :)
HA! ~love how I pictured the dulcimer upside down~ LOL! That's how I put it in the bag so that the tuners are at the top. *THANK Y'ALL!* I am SO HAPPY!!!!!
Jennifer, I know that there were more Wrens being made for etsy, but they found new homes before they made it. *I think* I read on the fb page that there was on bigger one (Sparrow) that was available....
Vlillik, I love the dress material! ~we make cloth napkins out of all our old dressy things~ :) I agree that dulcimer people are the very nicest on the whole planet!!!!!
Here is a pic of my completed bag and my beautiful Feather Dulcimer (a Wren) that I named Teagan. It means "little poet". Pictures could never do the artistry and craftmanship justice~she is the prettiest little thing I think I've ever seen!!!
Thank you, Vlillik! My Wren came today, and it is so amazing that I cried when I saw it! OH I was too busy to enjoy it today, and that was a stinker!!! LOL! I also finished my bag (save a button) during my son's PT appointment and at church this evening (SSHHH! Don't tell!). The lining is two layers of fleece. Will try to get some pics tomorrow. :)
I was thinking your straps would go all the way around... Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Vlillik, I did not expect the square shape and love it! Beautiful fabric and my favorite green. :) ~genius idea~
So last night I realized my liner is longer than what I've crocheted, meaning I could leave it and draw string over it so that it sticks out, or I could cut it down and restitch just a little bit. Not sure how I will proceed! I have not crocheted on it more but might be able to while sitting through the kids' storytelling today. My Wren dulcimer is on its way, so I need to get a movin'! SO EXCITED! ~will share pics of both~
*CONGRATULATIONS, MARK!* ~I cannot wait to listen to all those tunes~
WOOHOOO!!! ~this is wonderful~ Congrats to all winners!!!
I cannot wait to see that M.D. case!!! I finally sewed the inner lining to mine today, but I have not attached it and will also need to crochet a strap and drawstring top....
HA! ~greatest video everrrrr, Dusty~ :)
Beach pics have a way of making you see what you don't wanna. :( This morning I did a 20-minute, PowerFit Harmony workout.
Thank you so very much for sharing~I am enjoying this immensely!
ETA that was truly delightful!!!
I appreciate the vids!!! Just watched them, and after the second one? Well, crap. LOL! ~I have work to do~ Especially when I also saw the fretting ones to boot....
Monica, that's amazing work! Marg, GENIUS idea and still totally worthy of this thread!
