Thanks for the comment, Kristi. My laptop's in the shop so I'm struggling with tech stuff right now. But I hope to post new pics soon...also of the 3 white kittens we got a week ago!
Hi Kristi - I have three grandchildren, ages 7, 6 and a 2 year old. Love being a Grandma! I have friends that moved to Prescott Valley and I miss them terribly. We visit them every couple of years. Are you anywhere close to there?
Thanks for your concern and prayers Kristi, as I told Patty, this fire is a long way from where I am, however the whole of northern Alberta is very dry this Spring and there are several wildfires, some under control and some not. We are fortunate, we got a little rain yesterday, about half and inch, anything helps.
Hello Kristi, sorry to hear about your fall, get lots of rest and take it easy. Thanks for listening to "The Leaving of Liverpool", glad you enjoyed it.
Don't know where to post this. Had a terrible fall last week and then surgery to replace C6 & 6 as well as tearing of vena cava. Result is that I look like a bad Halloween movie character and feel somewhat worse than I appear.
Prognosis is pretty good but I will be a "patient" for many months. Left hand has not recovered fully from numbness and it is hoped that will become normal with time.
Times like these - may you never know them - are certain proof of the value and joy in our music!
In our family - the more the merrier - and we can ALWAYS use another dulcimer player.....I haveone sister and one brother, butneither play - so I could have a sister that plays!
Sounds like a win win to me

Thank you for the kind words! Yes my mom loved it! We are currently reworking it - adding captions to the pictures to preserve memories my mom has. It has been such a rewarding project!
So yourgreat-grandfather was a riverboat carpenter? Andhe playedfiddle? Well I hope he played this one too!
I see you like folk and gospel - wonderful stuff isn't it? I do believe that the dulcimer makes some of the most beautiful gospel ever!
Hi Kristi , Thanks for the comment. In my neck of the woods (England) the number of dulcimer players can be counted on one hand (without the thumb) ,so apart from a McSpadden, a home made one and a couple of Sobell,s dulcimers are a very rare breed in these parts.Judging the sound is difficult at the best of times, so I was buying "Blind & deaf", but it worked out well . It was from a dealer who is well trusted . The sound is mellow and different to my Sobell's. It doesn't go out much at the moment as I haven't a case for it. I prefer hard cases rather than cloth bags for safety
