Val has long said that this is what I need to be doing on my instruments. So, I'll push this with all the ones I sell because it really is how I'm making my art.
The images are to tie the chamsa and star to the instrument a bit more.
That is exactly what I'm going for, Steven. When I hear a dulcimer I get taken back to the all day neighborhood parties we had when I was growing up. Work like this takes me back to the boiled peanuts, smoked mullet, and all those who were there. A sloppy sentimentalist, I am!
For years I've used the Detail Master, and I still have it and use it. But I recently changed to the Razor Tip burning system and I love it! http://www.razertip.com/ .
Very well done Mark! I really like the "old style" engravings...reminds me of some of the items I used to look at in my grandmother's apartment in The Bronx.
I'm glad you listened to Val, Mark! :)
Thank y'all for the kind words.

These are images I burned on paper.
I love pyrography Mark, and yours is looking lovely, and so delicate.. What do you use , burner and tip-wise?
Beautiful work Mark, it is a treat following your process of your work.

Nice work, Mark.
I recognize the hamsa and star of David, obviously. Do the other images have any specific iconographic meaning, or are they purely decorative?
Sure is!
