Yes, my aim was not to build a repro of a vintage music box - just my own interpretation of a box dulcimer. And I am quite happy with the result.
This time I wanted to build it totally on my own. The only electrical tool I used was my cordless drill - everything else I did with my hands and simple standard tools.
Thank you, Michael.
Well, I would not say addicted - but it playing on a home made instrument definitely feels good!
What I have in mind is something like a "Backpacker Raffele ". As it is tuned DAA, you can also take it as a travel dulcimer in high-D-tuning...
Something like that. But it's only a first sketch, I'll change the zither pin part (no cutaway, and the zither pins placed on the top as usual).
But I can't start that before the end of the month. There's family, and there's a regular job as well...
