Thank you all, Carrie, Mike, Shawn, Miriam (great that you could make it this time! Smile.gif ) and Dusty!

Yes, Dusty, these were the tabs we actually used. But we didn't stick to it during the recording. Seems everyone had his own version on his mind! Grin.gif

Yes, Martin had the idea that some of us play the chords and others the melody - and Luigi had his Autoharp. All that together made it sound great! Smile.gif

That's great, Peter. I like how some of you are just strumming those chords and others (you and someone else?) playing the full melody.

Neal Hellman sometimes teaches this tune in his workshops. If anyone is interested, At the Gourd Music website he has posted a tab forthis tune in DAd with a capo on the first fret: http://www.gourd.com/graphics/Emma%20Tab.pdf

Thank you all! "Luigi" (the man with the Autoharp in the video) taught us how to play it.

It's great to learn music pieces from others just in real life (he had broughttabs for it, but we literally learned it by watching his fingers. I think that is how musical tradition has been working for centuries, at least with folk music and tunes).

We had a really great gathering - again, there were new participants, but music is a wonderful "bridge" between people and so we played together as if we had known each other for years... Smile.gif

The mixture of drones and chords produces some wonderful harmonies on this. Looks like a great weekend!

This is just to give an impression of the 3rd meeting of German Mountain Dulcimer players in our house in Satteldorf, Germany.

We had an exceptional, sunny October day, lots of fun and music - and this time we tried to play something "different" together. I'd say we played the second verse a little better than the first one - so maybe it's worth to listen to the whole video... Grin.gif
