I really do like DAC. It sounds good the way I have my dulcimer strung and there are several songs that I can strum, or at least parts of them, and they sound right. Shady Grove is one of my favorites in DAC.
Hi Sam, great to have another convert, I find it suits my personality to play in DAC ( I can even manage the odd chord, tho' quite often they really ARE odd LOL)
my regards

Sam it is in DAD that is all I play in so far I need to try some other tunings just for the fun of it.

I'd love to try to learn this one. Have to ask, is it in DAA or DAD? Very nice job on the strumming. I can just see folks gathered 'round at a pie supper dancin' and havin' a good time to tunes like this.

U's very welcome! I had a great time. Can't wait to do it again.

Thanks Bobby, I need to get a few more under my belt though so I can fit in at the jams. Tired of sitting twiddleing my thumbs while everyone else is having fun.

If you want the tab I got it off the Everything Dulcimer site. I've noticed that a lot of songs are place specific. It seems from what I've seen on this site that a lot of people north of me play more with the noter drone stile and DAA In my area we play more chord and DAD or so it seems. I'm wanting to try some other tunings just haven't done it yet. But with 8 dulcimers I don't know why I don't dedicate at least one to a different tuning. I might be completely out of the ball park about what I've said but it just seems so by watching where people are from and the stile of play they say they use.

It's a cool tune and I'd be curious to know whether it's one experienced jammers up this way know. Sometimes the popularity of fiddle tunes can be place specific. I don't know enough to know what's well-known around these parts and what's not.

Hey Robin, It's a fiddle tune you hear around here at jam sessions Prob not as much as some others but I liked the tune and it was pretty easy to memorize. I know it and sugar hill by heart no for Wiskey before breakfast and Black mt rag. I hate being at a jam and can't follow along.

Neat tune, Dana, and you did a nice job! I've never heard Cumberland Mountain Deer Chase or heard of it before, that I know of, anyway. (My mind is slipping, I tell ya! )

Hello John Good to hear from you. I've been practicing fiddle tunes so I can do more than just sit at the jams. How you been since Bardstown? Hope to see you again soon.
