Vera's a hoot! I hope to get to know her better, too. We've jammed and sung together a few times at one event or another (but never at a mic! ). I wanted to take one of her singing classes at KMW 2011but couldn't work it in....

Thank you Jan This song means a lot to me wish they had been around when I wrote it. I miss them everyday. That was only the 2nd time i had ever sang it at open mic I'm tabbing it out now I couldn't quiet get it before but then took Jeff furmans class on playing by ear and it really helped me. So glad you are on here.

Dana--I didn't see this video until after I looked through all your photos, so I felt like I'd already "met" the family you're singing about! I remember you singing this at KMW 2011 and thought it was a great tune and story and that you did a fine job for not being a "regular" at open mic! I strummed along as I watched the video, too!

I was pretty nervous that's why I messed up a little only second time I've ever done the open mic. At least it was among friends.
Dulcimer player ,artist, storey teller, singer, (did I say instrument collector?) ,please can I have your autograph..............!!! Dana, I used to lecture for a living, but still get the shakes when I get up to play in front of folks. Well done for the open mic Dana.

Dana, it's so cool to hear you sing this, especially after hearing & reading stories about your family. Plus, a special for performing on the open stage!
