Hi I'm new here and to dulcimers in general. I had an accident one month ago today and severed my middle finger of my left hand and i'm a guitar player/singer/songwriter. I've been going crazy not being able to play and the surgeon informed me it's going to take MONTHS...so I needed a fretted instrument that didn't require all my digits and thankfully I've found the dulcimer.
I just got an inexpensive one with some amazon credits I had but I can see that I'm going to out grow it FAST. I really am enjoying it and already wrote a song on it but the sound of course is nothing like the one's I've been listening to on you tube and here. It's a bit "thin" I'm going to change the strings soon and hope it helps but since I do gigs and need to amplify I'm going to need to invest in a better one that has pick ups. I came across yours and they are very beautiful.
I see there are a couple luthiers here and I'm glad as it won't be too long...I've surely gotten the dulcimer bug!!
