I kinda wish I'd waited to post a video of that. I can play it much faster and smoother now.Smile.gif

Yes, that's what I bought, Barbara! I am very pleased.
Thank you, ALL, for your kind words of encouragement! That piece already sounds better than it did in this video and I'm working on several more, feeling more and more comfortable every day. Smile.gif

I didn't realize you had a Berg dulcimer -- I have one too. I bought the beginner set -- which one do you have?

Leslie -- I think this is wonderful after only 6 weeks! Very nice playing.

Leslie, very nice song and nice playing tooSmile.gif And you've only had your dulcimer for six weeks. You are more brave than me. I haven't posted a video of me playing a tune. I hope to soon. Seeing your post gives me encouragement to do so. Thanks for sharingSmile.gif

Leslie, I missed your video the first time round, but happy I just came across it Very nice noter playing and your dulcimer sounds wonderful. I'm not familiar with Berg dulcimers but he obviously makes a very nice instrument. Thanks for posting this! I too have learned from Strumelia's blog and teaching......we are fortunate we have her to learn from as there are few teachers of this style.

Strumelia
09/03/12 05:00:33PM @strumelia:

This is excellent Leslie, and shows good command of the in/out strum pattern, and good steady rhythm.

Don't worry about speed at all- that comes naturally all by itself as you play longer. Most importantly, you've got the basics down solidly!

Love the smile at the end.

I hadn't seen your comment when I added my last one, Randy...THANK YOU!!!I'm afraid that a few of the notes got carried off by the wind. :-)

Thank you, John and Nancy, for your kind encouragement. Obviously, I am having trouble making that slide up to the 10th fret, especially from the 3rd one! That's why I am playing it slowly this time around. Got any suggestions?

You're gonna be a dulcimer player f'sure Leslie. You've got the feel for it already. That's some nice playing and a very good sounding dulcimer.
