Whipped up a quick dulcimer in about 30 min. out of scrap and trash to test a few curiosities. Weighing about a pound and a half, costing about 5$, looking like absolute junk, is this possibly the ugliest fully functional dulcimer ever made?
I was right-- it sounds better than it looks! Lots better! Such a cool experiment, Nate.
Amazing sound! But the way it looks!
Ingenuity and beauty that is in the ear of the be-hearer!
You can name it something like "Susan Boyle". Remember her?
So ugly... and it sings like an angel!
Ooh, a bongomicer! I love it. And it sounds just fine!
us luther's can learn from that....ha ha, that could be a pun.....but the sound is good....but the player is VERY GOOD....showing that a good player can make a piece of junk sound GOOD. Keep experimenting. then someday get into makeing beautiful ones.....that sound good too. aloha, irene
That "Abomination" may not look like much, but it delivers on the sound! Congratulations!
Right! I'm curious about how it sounds, Nate. I'm guessing better than it looks. :) I'm imagining long time ago, fully functional musical instruments were made out of whatever a person had at hand (and that, often, wasn't much).
Well, Nate, it don't look pretty, but more importantly, how does it sound?
