We did it again! 17 Dulcimer players from all over Germany met in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart. And we recorded a video again! The video is on Martin Oesterle's YT channel - but he asked me to add it here. Hope you like it! (Two participants are not in the video - that's why you can see only 15 people).
Thank you, Angela, Dusty and BJ!
@Angela: Of course we'd be happy if some people from Holland like to join in! We arrange our (irregular) meetings on the German Mountain Dulcimer discussion board. If you like to read and write in German, you can register at www.dulcimerforum.de *)
We do have some members from the North of Germany. But up to now, our Dulcimer gatherings were organized by people from the South of Germany - so I guess it is also a question of distance for you.
*) NOTE: In no way it is my intention to distract you from this discussion board here! For me, our German board is something like an outpost of FOTMD! In fact, many members of the German MD board are at the same time members of FOTMD.
Thank you Peter for posting. How wonderful you are all getting together to play. Glad to see my friend Miriam is still playing. I was lucky to be able to spend some time and play some with her in Tennessee. You all just look so comfortable and happy playing together. Please keep posting. Really enjoyed it.

That is just so cool! Appalachia in south-west Germany! You all sound great!
@Cynthia: Vielen Dank! I don't know whether anyone of us has ever been member of a marching band. But I know that for some of us the mountain dulcimer is the first and only musical instruments they play - and some started just a few months ago at an advanced age. But that is the great thing about the MD: beginners and experienced musicians can share music and have a great day..
@Patty: I enjoyed that dulcimer gathering day - but most of the spare time I am busy with kantele rather than with dulcimer. Still, I like playing the dulcimer very much...
@At all others: thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!
I don't think I've ever heard 17 dulcimers being played together before. :) I love it!
Peter, This is great!!! You all play well together. I've been wondering what you've been doing lately. Looks like you all are having fun. I hope you will post more videos soon.
Good to hear this. Thanks for sharing it.
Really great playing all of you together.
Looks like you all had a good gathering.
Ach, Du wunderschone! What a pleasure to hear Germans making music together. It is obvious all of you grew up playing something in a marching band, which I also did while I lived in Germany. You are right on and it's such a joy.
