I taught myself the Native American Flute primarily by using a book by the late John Vames called "Understanding the Gift". This song came from the second book which has all original songs written by John and his wife Sherry.
Thank you for watching.
I also want to point out that the flute I am using was purchased on eBay and it proves that although very reasonably priced it can still make beautiful music!!

Very nice Maria, love your new flute and I also like playing out doors to the birds.
Beautiful playing Maria.
Thanks so much Helen!! I'm glad you liked it!

Thank you Maria, your explanation is now clear as a bell, as clear as your beautiful playing! Thanks for taking the time to explain. Have you tried the realignment for a vocal? I'll bet it would be really hard to sync with a face and lips singing. Ya think? Curious!
Actually I have Mary, If you leave the original one there what I do is Raise it really high and then keep shifting the audio file until you only hear one voice (that's the trick. If you hear any kind of reverb or chorus then it's not perfect) so once it's exact you then lower the volume of the original track!!
Thanks again for your kind words!!
Maria
Hi again!
So you added reverb after recording... How? Where? When? etc!!!! Even if I record in iMovie there isn't a reverb option. On Garageband there is, but that is only audio, no visual. And oh yes to the reverb for NA flute - delicious!
So not to make it overly complex (as it seems whenever I try and "type" this stuff out it seems harder than it is)
okay I use an app for the iPad called "Pinnacle Studio". They just recently updated with a great new feature that allows for the "extraction" of the audio. I do that and open it in another app called "Auria" (there are other less expensive ones but that's just what I use. You could also mail it to your self and then open it in Garageband for Mac or another such Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)
Then I add the reverb to the audio. Save it and then open it in another app called "AudioShare" then That app has an option to "Open in" and I open it in "Pinnacle Studio" and re-align the audio to the video...you have to then lower the volume of the audio that's still attached to video....
I'm sure there are lots of other ways
hope that helps!

Beautiful tone and even better playing.
Sounds like a fine new flute for your collection and at a bargain price!
Nice post Maria!
Oh thanks so much Pine!!
I really appreciate that...I know how nicely you play so that makes me feel good that you think my playing and tone are good!!

Maria, that sounds really nice - especially like it with the reverb.
Hi Maria! I see we were both recording outside today! You added or enhanced your sound, very lovely. The whole video is absolutely heavenly, thank you for sharing it! And I really appreciated your showing us the book and details of your flute. Happy sigh!
Maybe I could take some lessons from you on how to make the sound better and higher quality? My bose amp and mic stand are packed away cuz I'm moving in a couple of weeks, so that usually helps. But I'd welcome any pointers!
Hey Mary!! thanks so much for your kind words. And yes your ears were correct. I added some reverb to the audio after it was recorded. I think the NA flute sounds so good with reverb!! I actually got a little amp to use that attaches to my belt and it has reverb. I'm going to try that next week!
take care and i'd be happy to help if I could
Maria
This is from the second book called "Understanding the Gift" Vol 2.
It's an original by John Vames who wrote both books and I played it on a very inexpensive F#m (32 dollars plus shipping) on Ebay!!
Thanks for watching
