Hello Brian, "July 21 - July 27 " ! Have pulled some 's from the bank ready to pay 'the extras' that we have to fork out to all and sundry once it gets here !
Thanks again all. John - like yours, this one is also in mint condition and I was surprised that the price wasn't greater. (Not that I'm complaining.) Dusty - yes, the second tune is just a slower version of Salt Creek. One of my favorite flatpicking guitarist, Beppe Gambetta, is well known for playing that tune slowly and he always calls it Slow Creek. You can here one version of Beppe playing it here:
Terry, I'd be happy to send the tab to you. I just tried to send you a message, but can't unless we're friends. So check for an invite. :)
Nice playing. Nice dulcimer. I used to play that second song as "Salt Creek" on the mandolin.

Well, I think you did VERY well with your purchase! I have a couple of McSpaddens rescued from the pound (eBay) at a FRACTION of retail and both were in mint condition and sound great. The spruce really speaks well to the character of this tune...just a great sounding job!

Thanks John! I appreciate your comments. :) I like the sounds of spruce tops - I had a custom spruce-topped Folkcraft years ago that I still regret selling (but at the time I really needed the money). This is the first spruce instrument I've had since then, and I love the contrast between this and my favorite cedar dulcimer.

Congrats on your eBay McSpadden! It sounds wonderful (you don't sound too shabby yourself). Great find and great job!

Will post something of it 'as soon as'

Hi John,
When are you expecting yours to arrive? Please post pics of a video once you receive it. :)
Still waiting for one from the same source Brian, if it sounds and looks as the one you have I shall be pleased!
John
