Thought I'd post a link to my Noter Drone Blog post on this tune, which contains the dulcimer Tab i wrote for it, that got Cheryl inspired to try the tune:
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm very in love with the sound of this dulcimer, not sure if its so resonant because it cured in an attic for 30 years or because J. Amburgey was a genius....or maybe both!
I'm glad the tempo seemed okay. It seemed a little slow to me because I was trying to keep up with the banjo player from Strumelia's blog link.....here for your listening pleasure: . Love the sound of this fella's banjo and his playing!
Dave...I dislike short videos too....but our internet up here in the mtns is about the speed of dial up....although we pay for "high speed" internet. Loading a video is a lot like watching paint dry.
Strumelia..this is really great tune, very catchy and very fun to play. I hope more folks will play it. Thank you for finding this tune and making it viable for the dulcimer!! BTW....those hammer on pull offs with the noter were buggers!! :) Good learning experience!
You know, I think you may actually be the first person in the world to post a recording of playing this tune on a mountain dulcimer!
I play it on my banjo, from a fiddle tune played by Pug Allen. I played it on my dulcimer while creating the tab for it for my dulcimer Noter Blog of course, but I didn't record that. You are the FIRST PERSON EVER to record this fiddle tune on a mountain dulcimer I believe!
Great job, I love how you play it and I love the sound of your old dulcimer!

Very nice. Sure you can't make the noter-drone campout this weekend?
Strumelia, I should have thought to post a link to your blog post. Great idea!!!

Thank you Cheryl, your rendition has been an enormous help to me in getting this one down!
Nice! I agree with Strumelia...the tempo is fine, and that dulcimer sounds great for that tune!

Oh My!!!!
That's just wonderful What a tone you tease out from that old dulcimer Cheryl. And what a great little tune!
The tempo is perfect in my opinion.
Great Cheryl I think the tempo is just fine. Sounds fine to me. It's a fun tune.
Very nice Cheryl! (And like others, I really like the sound of that dulcimer!)
Hey, very nice Cheryl. Nice sounding dulcimer, too.

Now that has 'the sound' for me, thanks for posting Cheryl !
