Hey thanks everyone...just catchin up here after a long work week! Heather....the action is just perfect on this dulcimer.....medium to low I would say. Normally I like the action a little higher but I've grown to like Joy just as she is set up. Nancy...I'm laughing about the espresso...I may have had a little starbucks that day. Gayle....I am thankful every day for being able to enjoy these mountains in all their seasons. Robin, you are too kind. Sam and Robin you are so kind....I so enjoy noter playing that I practice a lot and the sound from John's dulcimer makes me grin ear to ear. Carrie...Joy is living up to her name....so glad the weekend is here so I can strum some more! Thanks J and K and Wayne too!
Wow Cheryl, you just amaze me! you are a FINE player and the way you can strum..I would need about 10 shots of expresso to get a 1/4 of the way there. lol
My, my, my. Such a spirited version of 'Sawyer'. Your noter work just gets better and better. I enjoyed listening to this one a lot. Thanks for the info on the Q3. I've thought a couple of times of getting something besides just my point and shoot.
Robin, forgot to say....the tuners are Perfection Plantetary Pegs by Knilling....basically the same thing I would think. They come in Ebony and Rosewood. I love them...and unless you look close they look like plain ole ebony wooden tuners. Best of both worlds IMHO
Definite keeper, thanks Rob. Robin, the sound quality on the Zoom is excellent. And the price is right for the older Q3. The newer HD model was a a bit steep...would rather have new instruments! :) Thanks for your kind comments. Can't stop playing this dulcimer....wonder how it will change as it gets played in?
Patty, thanks! Its a really great dulcimer...not that I'm biased or anything! I fell in love with the sound of Robin Clark's "blessed" and the rest is history.
Oh gosh, the pic sure is dark. Well...off to read the instruction book for the Zoom Q3. Seems like a great little camera (now around 89 bucks since the new HD version came out!) Very easy to use and I just plugged it into the USB, trimmed the ends and voila!
Thanks Macy and James!! A big yes to the porch dulcifest!
Great rendition!
Love your playin Cheryl. You gotta have a dulcifest on your porch sometime.
Thanks Barbara!

You are such a fine player, Cheryl! Your Thomas reproduction has a nice sound, so well-suited to fiddle tunes. Always a treat to hear you play!
Loved it!

Nicely done!

Oh my That's just wonderfull. Listen to that sweet ringing tone - and what a great place to sit and play!!!
I saw those Wittner tuners on one of the photos you posted Cheryl - they match the instrument perfectly
And I'm impressed with your Zoom Q3 (and John Henry's too).
Really nice; sounds like it may be a keeper, huh

Sounds pretty Cheryl I can't wait to hear more. I sure like that Thomas
