5,000 members. Hard to believe even in this world-wide internet "society." Lisa, we appreciate you and thank you, Darlin', for giving us this community!
Wow, dulcimer players must be reproducing like rabbits!
And I think it's appropriate to resurrect this old thread about getting 500 members in which Rod figured so prominently as we reconfigure things for a membership 10 times that level!
Many thanks to Lisa for her vision and continued leadership here and to all the members who share their knowledge and joy of music in such a friendly manner. As I approach the fifth anniversary of the purchase of my first dulcimer, I wonder if I would still be playing without the advice and encouragement from everyone here. Heartfelt thanks to all.
5,000 strong! Let's celebrate!
Now wait a minute!..... so where is Rod gonna be while you are stuck 'guarding the dew'?(and hey you don't have worry about ME trying to steal any of that stuff, for sure!) LOL! =:-SContra Dance! I,d love to only Rod has already said that whatever, I,m detailed to sit and guard the Dew , needed someone he could trust, you see.................knew that I would'nt touch it.
How about if instead of a snowshoe, we do a contra dance? Heck, we have plenty of musicians. We gotta work off a few of these calories somehow !
This will be my first party and it all sounds rather delish - is there a dress code - are partners allowed - looking forward to a taste of that mountain dew!
I think if there's snow, we should all go snowshoeing after lunch!
John Henry- can you get hold of some good Stilton?....I can make a mean crusty bread!:

So all we have to bring are deserts.. and of course what ever else you want to bring.. you know this group.. they eat anything..especially Jim, Randy(sorry no bones), Andy, and many others.. of course I'll do my part.. :)
oh yeah we need drinks as well... I have ordered a 55 gallon drum of Mountain Dew.. just thought I'd share this great news...
Bill, I think I'm going to bring a nice healthy spinach salad with my own kitchen-grown sprouts, with feta cheese and calamata olives and a shitake dressing. But I'll keep some 'emergency' extra salsa and chips in my car just in case a whole gang of hungry new members come busting in the door unexpectedly and want to eat up all the good stuff. You bring the salsa and chips for the rest of us and we won't crack into the emergency supplies in my trunk unless we need to. :DThis is the most fun you can ever have Robin. I've got some chips and salsa, Jim's got Cookies, i think Lisa's got Chips and salsa too. :)
yep this is awesome.. did some looking back..

I think a shout of Hurray is in order for Strumelia thanks for starting this gathering point that a family (ever growing) of dulcimer players can gather to share our ups and downs with our dulcimer playing.. a place to help new players and old a like to share and gain from.. thanks again Strumelia... now of to think about what I'll bring to the party.. hmmm wonder when 1000 will happen.. :) :)
Wow 20 short of 500 members...I'm getting to like these parties... have to see what I can bring to this party.. I know no wheat picks.. :) :) seems like just yesterday we had the 400 member party..
I have his book just above my eye level at all times, he freely offered a deal of encouragement to all and sundry, and we shared some good on line 'anniversary parties' ! Sleep well friend.

Ok, just had to bump this old thread up...brings back some smiles from five years ago...
And you are much needed indeed! :D...(especially since the sheriff has a habit of snoozing while the criminals rant rampant. LOL )just glad ta be here when needed...
He gets extra bullets whenever I have to go over to Mt. Pilot for a day or two, leaving Mayberry's wellbeing completely in his capable hands. But best not to shower him with live ammunition lest he start gettin' all full of himself. ;DRandy was saying to me that we should think about giving him more bullets, but I said why? If you're good like "The Deputy" you only need one shot!!! Atta boy Deputy Mo!!
