I do believe they are dogwood flowers. That's the type of flower Ledford liked to put on his. Let's hope the bears don't run down the fretboard and eat the dogwood flowers, then you will only have two sound holes.

There are so many wonderful builders - but I happened to be in Townsend Tennessee, and of course had to look up Wood-N-Strings....Mike and Connie are wonderful people. We got to tour the shop. I asked him if he had ever carved a bear - he said no but he would give it a shot. I got to pick out the wormy chestnut while I was there. It is absolutely a beautiful instrument! If you ever get down that way......Make sure you go - it's a real treat!

Hmmm, gotta start saving my pin money...
Colleen - I believe the bottom sound holes are dogwood. I absolutely love the sound - it is different than my other dulcimers - so sweet and the action is great for hammers and pull-offs.

So jealous. Really want a Clemmer, but they are a bit too pricy for me right now. What are the bottom soundholes? Do you like the sound?

Rob...actually I have had it for a long time! I just decided that is is perfect for the January Challenge. It has such a beautiful sound.
Ken - you crack me up
Probably not good since I was already a cracked egg!
