This is dedicated to Fay - my beautiful Sister-in-Law and Friend, as she celebrates her first birthday in heaven.
While she is desperately missed, she is free from the horrible clutches of ALS.
Fay plays such a big part in this video….
She LOVED her garden, her pond, her birds and flowers, and FROGS! Yes, frogs!
Her motto was - F.R.O.G. - Fully Rely on God!
Some years ago, she bought a Ron Ewing dulcimette. After some time had passed, she got frustrated with it and said "Here - I can't make this thing sing, so you make it sing". I fell in love with it, but it is so much more precious to me now.
I have recorded "In the Garden" on that Ron Ewing dulcimette, and all of the pictures were taken by Fay (except the one of the dulcimette). This project is very dear to me!
Happy Birthday Fay! We love you and miss you.....
Till we see you again!

Hi Cindy:
Thank you so much for all the info regarding your beautiful Ron Ewing dulcimer! You certainly can make her sing on your beautiful video tribute! I'm sure your sister-in-law was proud and smiling down on you playing it and showing all of her beautiful photos! I have a beautiful walnut Ron Gibson dulcimer but I'm also considering a teardrop or dulcimette but not sure what type of wood yet. I love the sweeter sound so I'm always open for suggestions! Thanks again!
Robert, Cynthia, Benjamin and Christine..... A great big thank you for listening, for sharing in our precious memories and for the kind and wonderful comments. I know everyone that has commented understands how much this means to me! Thank you again!!!

Hi Marcia,
Thank you so much for listening, for sharing in our precious memories, and for the wonderful comments. Each time I look thru the photos, it just reminds me how much she loved all that beauty and I am so grateful to have those pictures to share!
Funny you ask about the Ron Ewing Dulcimette. Fay actually bought it off of Ebay, and didn't really know anything about it when she gave it to me. I sent an email to Ron himself, and he was kind enough to look up what it was. His notes said that this is a baritone dulcimette with mahogany back, cedar top and cherry head.
I was on a quest a couple of years ago to actually identify the woods in my different instruments.
Thanks again for your kind comments!
Cindy: What type of wood is your Ron Ewing dulcimer? It has a very pretty song!
Cindy: I loved your video....what a beautiful tribute to your sister-in-law! I'm sure she's smiling down on you! The beautiful photos just made your video even more special. Thanks again for sharing it!
