Thank you so much for all the info regarding your beautiful Ron Ewing dulcimer! You certainly can make her sing on your beautiful video tribute! I'm sure your sister-in-law was proud and smiling down on you playing it and showing all of her beautiful photos! I have a beautiful walnut Ron Gibson dulcimer but I'm also considering a teardrop or dulcimette but not sure what type of wood yet. I love the sweeter sound so I'm always open for suggestions! Thank you so much for listening, for sharing in our precious memories, and for the wonderful comments.  Each time I look thru the photos, it just reminds me how much she loved all that beauty and I am so grateful to have those pictures to share!

Funny you ask about the Ron Ewing Dulcimette.  Fay actually bought it off of Ebay, and didn't really know anything about it when she gave it to me.  I sent an email to Ron himself, and he was kind enough to look up what it was.  His notes said that this is a baritone dulcimette with mahogany back, cedar top and cherry head.

I was on a quest a couple of years ago to actually identify the woods in my different instruments.
