Thanks,Dusty, that you appreciated the "swing" in the melody. It recquires tiny rests between notes,"punctuation".The virtues of the dulcimer are many and include sustain of notes, the availability of drones, the ease of playing(you sit it on your lap or a table)...Playing non-oldtime American melodies on the mountain dulcimer is a good challenge but rewarding given the versatility of the instrument....
Blowing my own horn I suppose....I especially like the "diddley dump" triplet at the start of measures 2 and 4 in the 3rd. part(slow count)...I'm "hammering on" on the "D" strings to get the "E"note...Can't explain it,but it works...Perhaps I hear it because I want to,laugh.
Thanks,Robin.Sometimes that is my intent,to stay as true to the time, place and history the music came from.Other times,"throw it at the wall and see if it sticks"like pasta, laugh.

Can't get this song out of my head. You play it with such an infectious bounce!
Cool!
Gotta learn that one!
It's a fun tune, for sure! If I knew how to dance, I could dance along.

Nice! This is the sort of tune which can take a listener to another era.
