This lyrics of this ancient French carol tell the blessed story of Christmas. An English translation:
Christmas comes anew, O, let us sing Noel!
Glory to God, now let your praises swell!
Sing we Noel, for Christ the newborn King.
Christmas comes anew, O, let us sing Noel!
Angels did say, "O, shepherds come and see,
Born in Bethlehem, a blessed Lamb for thee."
Sing we Noel, for Christ the newborn King,
Christmas comes anew, O, let us sing Noel!
In the manger bed, the shepherds found the Chld,
Joseph was there and mother Mary mild,
Sing we Noel, for Christ the newborn King,
Christmas comes anew, O, let us sing Noel!
Soon came the kings from following the star,
Bearing costly gifts from Eastern lands afar,
Sing we Noel, for Christ the newborn King,
Christmas comes anew, O, let us sing Noel!
Brought to Him gold and incense of great price,
Then the stable bare resembled Paradise,
Sing we Noel, for Christ the newborn King!
Christmas comes anew, O, let us sing Noel!
Terry, choosing fishing over dulcimer?!! Gotta work on those priorities! Ha! Save festival dates for next year, Nov 15-19. (I'm just messing funny with you, take care!)
I know . .....I get "messed funny" with a lot. 😆

Gwen, a trip to Helen would have been nice. I love it there. It was on my radar, but two week long fishing trips with my brothers filled my time.
Hopefully , 2017 or possibly another event.
By the way, the dulcimer you are playing on this video is absolutely stunning .
Wonderful video. Thanks.
Terry, thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! I was hoping you could have made it up to the big dulcimer festival in Helen, GA a few weeks ago, maybe next year?!
Dulcimerrily,
Gwen
Gwen, your song was so very beautiful. A nice piece of work, indeed it was. I sure enjoyed the different instruments, especially the pan flute. Superb.
So glad to hear from you dear Benjamin, Lexie and Gail! Thanks for the kind and positive comments, you encourage me to expand musically.
Beautiful!
Oh Gwen, this is so incredibly beautiful! It brings every wonderful memory out of this season.
You are a gift, I love listening to you play.
Beautifully played.
Thanks, Irene! It is a Dudley capo. I have played with these quick release capos for about 20 years. Since I play with bluegrassers, Irish and other music genres, the keys they play in go far beyond the dulcimer 'D'. The quick release capo gets me where I need to be fast. My Dudley capos are very old, back when they were affordable. The current ones have now more than doubled in price, and have, unfortunately, priced me out the door!
very beautifully done. thank you. That takes a lot of "taking" to get all your 3 instruments in the showing. I love this old carol. I wanted to see up close your CAPO....what one are you using? aloha, irene
So glad you enjoyed it, Lynn!
Dulcimerrily,
Gwen
Gwen, Thank you for sharing that exquisite rendition of this tune....absolutely beautiful!
Strumelia, what a descriptive image for this tune, That vision will run through my head now every time I play it. With appreciation!
Gwen, what a very musical lady you are.
To me, this version of yours is evocative of crystal clear frosty winter nights.
Thanks Patty, Mary and Lexie! With the advent of the season, the music best prepares my heart for the celebration.
What a rich tapestry of sounds! Lovely playing, and Merry Christmas!
Very pretty Gwen, nice to see the lyrics.
Gwen, very pretty!!! Thank you for writing the lyrics. Christmas blessings to you!!!
Christmas blessings as we enter the advent season, everyone!
