The American Chestnut was the tree of fortune in the early days. It was used for everything. Really happy to see healthy trees increase in numbers.
Well, "Dame Fortune has indeed smiled upon you, my son!" I'm fortunate to find wormy chestnut here, let alone clear, sound chestnut. Making fine dulcimers from it is better than making fenceposts or barns from it (as in the past), in my humble view.
Thanks John. My chestnut came from a damaged, full-grown, American Chestnut.
Where do you find that amazing chestnut, Jack? Is it all salvage wood?
Beautiful grain patterns and workmanship.
My latest additions, new, clear, American Chestnut, now available.
