The Sides

All of the wood is black walnut, except for the ebony fixins'. The ruby shellac really ties the instrument together. It is always interesting to me how the shapes seem different depending on the view.

I'm finally done with the rabbi's dulcimer, and it is beautiful! I'll get a video up soon--I love its voice! The action is great and the intonation is right on. I'm really proud of this one!
I put the loop around the string pins. The string bridle is used to make sure the strings don't rise up. Even though the string bridle is a pragmatic element, I really like it as a design element. I've not included it on all of my instruments, but some of them just call for it, like this one did. Thank you for the kind words, and big smiles to you!
Looking at where you have the strings at the bottom of this lovely.....loop end or ball end? blurry in this photo a little. and what's that little "dodad" that is above the string attachment? beautiful workman ship!!!! aloha, irene
