Blondie, I bought it directly from Ken, there's a bowed dulcimer group on Yahoo and used ones often come up for sale, in fact, I sold mine there in January. Nick
I have one of Ken's earlier versions. Mine's fretless. He has changed the extent to which the strings fan out as they get closer to the bridge, so there's not the same likelihood of either bowing the body, or the adjacent A string when playing the high E, which has been my only real issue, and makes me tense up when I'm playing up there. It does look lovely and sound nice, though. I'm sure you'll have a lovely time with it. Just keep a relaxed bow hold, and let it flow...
Yes it has a violin style tailpiece and fine tuners. It also has non-slip Perfection Pegs. It was made by Ken Bloom. I'm new to bowing so still at the "cat strangling" stage!! Nick

Is it the Octave violin?

Oh I am so jealous. I am in the market for a Ken Bloom bowed dulcimer. Where did you get yours?
Blondie
Nik, I recognize that instrument design-- another wonderful Bloom creation!
