I had posted a video of this piece earlier this week. But then I found Linda Brockinton's fantastic rendition and I knew that I had to work on that piece again (well aware that my way to play it is still far away from her incredibly smooth and soft playing!)So here is my second recording. I tried to play it "softer" this time. And - maybe the be most significant improvement of this second recording - this time I am wearing the yellow hat. :)Enjoy!2nd movement (Largo) from the "New World Symphony" by Antonn Dvok (1893). Also known as "Going home".
Loved the playing, so soft and delicate. Truly a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you, willie!
@Strumelia or admins: thank you for featuring my video.
Thank you, Patty! :)
Peter, you play wonderfully!!! I liked your earlier version too. I must admit I do love the yellow hat too. Thanks for sharing your videos with us. I look forward to seeing and hearing them
Thank you all for listening and for commenting!
Thank you again for your inspirational recording of "Going home".
I didn't know it as a hymn before - it seems to be a funeral hymn? Here in Germany it is just known as a classical piece, maybe the most famous part of Dvorak's 9th symphony - but it doesn't have a "sad" connotation...
By the way - this yellow hat is a bowler, but the rounded top can't be seen in the recording, so it rather looks like a porkpie. I'll try to find a better camera position next time: less legs, more hat!
You know what they say: the hat makes the man!
Nice playing, Peter.
Peter that was great. Such a beautiful song ! And I Love the hat!!! Too... Ill be watchin for the next one...
Yes! The hat! Keep it in!
Kudos to you, the playing, AND the return of the yellow hat! Nicely done!
