Another tune from us which may put you to sleep. :)
I titled the tune in memory of my mom and dad. We used to drive by a place which they told me had been, some years ago, a Peony farm.
@davisjames Jamie, the recent years when other parts of Ohio had masses of cicadas, we've had very few here in our little corner of the Appalachian foothills. We haven't had a large cicada emergence here at our place in well over ten years.
Hey, we're glad you like it, @davisjames Jamie! We may just try a tune with Cicadas. The eclipse here was near totality and it was a marvel to see. There were eclipse tourists here in Ohio so the idea of being a Cicada tourist doesn't seem far-fetched.
Love the melody, playing and the birdsong counterpoint.Perhaps you are ideally situated to play along with the cicadas in their record year of matching cycles. We had an eclipse here, quite wondrous.. I'm tempted to travel to the apex and play along with the dulcimer, laugh. A cicada tourist.
@macaodha Val, thanks so much for listening and for the kind comment-- I read it aloud to the guitar player. :) I hope you're getting to make plenty of music these days!
@dusty I imagine it is as you indicate, that some type of noter is needed to get the sound on a string to fall away the way I'm trying to do here (and it would be much trickier to try to do with a finger). Thank you for listening and it's good to know a melancholy feel came through.
Beautiful, Robin. Your sensitive playing is really highlighted here and you employ slides in a way that could not be replicated without a noter. Definitely a melancholy or at least nostalgic feel to this tune. Another gem!

The cicada infestation never made it across the border, nor did I in the southern direction.Nevertheless we did have some, all gone to sleep now, laugh.

Beautiful composition and beautifully played. Your music transports one to a nice place.
