Description:

I love this tune .. in fact I wish there was more of it! The image is the river Mersey towards Liverpool but hey, I’m a bit far from the Elk River!

Such a beautiful tune and sound, Steve - the only negative thing is that it is too short : )

Steve Battarbee:Was it inspired by the damming of the valley or something like that Robin

Yes, Steve.  The federal government dammed the Elk River and flooded what had been the Carpenter family home.  Had it been me, I would have just yelled some profanities, written a nasty letter, and headed down to the local bar to drink and yell some more.  But old Ernie wrote this wonderful tune, which you play very well, by the way.

Great as usual Steve love the drone going on there.

Steve, those drones are powerfully good on ERB!  I really like Mr Ernie Carpenter's tune even though the story of how it came to be is a sad one.

Really like your version, Steve....Kind of sounds like bagpipes!
