A Welsh folk dance tune called Pwt ar y Bys (a bit on the finger). It's also known in England as 'Buttered Peas' for some reason.

Sounding it out phonetically as Buttered Peas is too funny. I wish I could think of some other song titles like that.

Whichever way it travelled, Dusty, the connection must have been between the North of England and Wales, because only a northerner would hear Pwt ar y Bys (ˈpʊtarəˈbiːs) as Buttered Peas (ˈbʊtə(r)dˈpiːz) and vice versa. There is much intermingling of traditions!

Nice playing, Beth. I did indeed learn this tune as "Buttered Peas."  But I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally a Welsh tune that was just appropriated by the English country dance tradition.
