Thanks for the info, Brian and Phil!

It isn't so much your playing but that cool shuffle (is this 6/8 time?) you get going. And for what it's worth, I loved that old VW and had one of the best summers of my life in it.

Hi all! Thanks again for your comments. Always appreciated. Rick, Phil is correct. 1-5-7 just denotes the 1st, 5th and 7th notes of the scale. If we start out with D, that's DAC tuning. Dusty, this is the first time the sound of my playing has ever been compared to that of an old Volkswagon. :) I'm not sure whether I should feel somehow honored or disheartened. lol

Rick, I just saw this so I will try to answer before Brian. DAd is 1-5-8 tuning-the first, fifth, and eighth notes of the scale. If you lower your melody string to c, you are now in 1-5-7 tuning.

Enjoyed that tune, as usual, Brian--if you don't mind answering a newbie question--what is 1-5-7 tuning--is that stepping down from some other sort of tuning?

Nice playing. You've been exploring this 1-5-7 tuning a lot recently. You get a nicerhythm going that is probably supposed to sound like a horse moving quickly over brush but reminds meofan old Volkswagon I once had.

Very clean playing. And very clean shirt as well, I might add.
