Thanks Geekling!! How cow...I would melt!! It's been 70's here in the day and high 40's low 50's at night. Good sleeping weather. Will try to blow some over your way!! :)
This one is my AW Jeffreys from the Goodwill....no kidding. Just got lucky. Must have come from somebody's estate and a relative donated it to the Goodwill. Can't imagine anyone would give away such a dulcimer...but I guess it could happen. It is a lovely sounding dulcimer.....although the sound on this particular video came out crummy. :(
holy cow - how did u manage that price? Now my whole price thing is shot. hahaha. i just assumed a good sounding dulcimer is $300, since mine doesn't sound nearly that good. Couldn't possibly be operator error though - Nah, not a possibility. Haha.
Robin thanks! I will check the microphone settings....I have a yetti mic and I'm using my laptop. I think it does have an auto level setting. I'm so glad you know this....its been driving me nuts that the sound is disrupted when I record outside and I couldn't figure out why. Even if there is just a slight breeze it alters the sound....maddening!
Thanks again...glad you like the version...its all yours!
PS - Does your camera have auto volume? That can cause recording problems as the wind and changing sounddynamics (like an instrument peaking on a strum) can cause the device to constantly change the recording volume. On some cameras you can turn off the auto volume feature and set the level yourself.
Very nice playing. And what a cute smile at the end!
I hadn't thought of it until i read John Henry's comment, but how do you keep that dulcimer in place? It looks like the head is sticking out way past your leg. Are you a sorceress by any chance?
Great stuff as now to be expected from you Cheryl, but.... how do you keep that dulcimer on your lap, it seems as if the head is too far to the left to recieve support..........? Nosy, ain't I
Thanks everyone! Wish the sound would have come out better....This was a really fun tune with the noter....and I think there is even a little room for improvising that could be added here and there like the fiddlers do.
Heather, the weather is soooo pretty now....Fall is here! Hope you find your noter! Wayne...still have a chair for you right here on the porch...in fact enough for all ya'll!! Rob...give it a whirl...bet you'll love it! Thanks Sue, Dana and Brian...appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
