Thanks To God For My Redeemer

musician/member name: Entertainment

description:
Hello Folks, Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second weekend of October every year. With that in mind, I thought I would repost this video. Happy Thanksgiving!! Thanks to God For My Redeemer (Tack, O Gud) words by August L. Storm in the Swedish Salvation Army Paper Strids-Ropet 1891; translated from Swedish to English by Carl E. Backstrom. Music by Johannes A. Hultman 1910. The Scriptural reference is 1Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Thank you, Gordon!  A lovely hymn tune with meaningful words.

In my family tradition, Mom and Dad would sing a duet of this a capella on our American Thanksgiving,

Thanks again!

A beautiful song that was done beautifully!  Your dulcimer compliments your voice so well!

Thank you for the great reminder to be thankful in all things!

Thanks Gordon. Thanks for reminding us that we do have a lot to be thankful for.

Hey John, it sure doesn't pay to get too complacent does it?  I know that I ask for and accept His help everyday without thinking or thanking.

Thanks Gordon.....We have that one too, though I can't remember when it was last used.  I'll pick one up Sunday.  Oh, and thanks for the tab.

Wow, Gordon.  Good job on a great song.

Thanks Terry, there are some real beauties out there. Canadian Thanksgiving is October 8 this year so I thought it was fitting for the season.

Hey Salt, we use the green Lutheran Book of Worship for our liturgy but we prefer to sing from "Hymns of the Living Church" lots of great old timey hymns there. You can also find it through internet on "The Cyberhymnal". I have sent you a pm of my noter drone tab. I think you'll find that it is a good voice exercise.

Gordon..........looking some of the hymns in the green Lutheran Book of Worship and am wondering if that is the book you use.   I have lots of hymnals though my favorite is the 1958 Service Book.   Still working on that this tune and trying to make a variation of it for a service a couple of weeks away........I am going to make it work too.   Again, thanks for pointing that old tune out........good job.

That's a great tune...........I'm going to have to learn it.

Thanks for posting it...we'll see how it goes with a little Pentecostal twist.

That sounds like a good idea Salt, us Lutherans are always happy to share.
