Beautiful contemporary gospel. The versitility of your voice lets you do so many things so well. Great playing too ... I think this is the first time I've actually seen anyone use the strum hollow. Lovely Karen.
Thanks Naomi, that was the first song that I wrote and sang at the same time. It's a little too high for my voice, but I enjoyed it anyway! Thanks for listening and I'm glad you liked it.
You are too kind Dewey. This song kind of wrote itself. I set out to write an instrumental song, and somehow ended up singing again. As a flute player growing up, I never got to sing, so somehow that keeps working its way into my music. I appreciate all of your kind words and I'm glad that you enjoyed the song.
Played it twice, Karen. It's very unusual. You know what I liked the best about it? It's "out of the box". The tune isn't predictable, and it isn't typical. It's one of the more imaginative presentations I've heard. Good for you, Karen! Good job on a nice song. I think it's on those excursions outside the "box" that often result in the classic tunes - those which have that something special that sets them apart from the norm and keeps people humming them over and over. and musicians playing them year after year. I don't know if this is one of those or not. But your style, and your ability to think out of the box certainly could stage you to compose one.
Hey Wayne and Kimberly and thanks for listening. The song kind of wrote itself once I got started, but that was definitely the hard part. (getting started) HA HA I started with just a chord progression and hummed a melody later, then added words last. Thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot.
PS Wayne: An OmPah band, you've been holding out. Tell me more!
You have to wear the Bavarian Hat in your next video...please, please, pppplllllleeeeaaaasssseee?
Thanks you guys for listening. It was fun to do and it was my first original tune. I hope to be writing some more in the future, but I think I need to get back to some more playing skills this week.
Thanks Gayle and Patty. Hope we meet before then, Gayle. Hey Patty, it is indeed on the cd and thanks for your kind words.
Karen, I loved seeing this again. I hope it's on your cd
I like it (but I like it better nowadays even better).
