That's an old recording you've dragged up there! I keep forgetting I have 90 or so tunes uploaded to the site - it is a history of my playing!!!
I recorded that in my kitchen one evening with Chris Shaw who was playing an old tenor guitar. He used to come round each week and we'd learn a new tune and recorded it at the end of the night. I haven't played with Chris for quite a while but he came to a pub session on Friday night in the George III and he had that old tenor with him as well as his mandolin. A very good fiddler from Glasgow has moved into the area - she was storming!!! Nick was there with his banjo and Roger on upright bass. So we had a blast knocking out old time tunes and other jigs and reels, much to the delight of the revellers out for a Friday night drink I really wish I'd taken my Zoom H5 recorder with me as it was a great session: with only 5 of us there it was just the right amount of players and mix of instruments to keep it really tight (and fast!!!)
Bravo! That sounds great, Robin. Who is accompanying you here; I like the counter-melody stuff. It's like the two of you are weaving around each other throughout. Very nice!
