@Val-Hughes Val, Mark's flatpicking this nice old tune on guitar was inspiring!  Your style of play would sound wonderful (as it always does) on Elzic's.

Thank you, friends, I hope to return to working on fingerpicking someday!  As I recall, I started playing around with Elzic's Farewell because Mark was working on it on guitar and the tune sounded so fine.

@Brian-G The Sunhearth Lorraine Lee model really is a special instrument.  I'd love to hear you play it!

It's great when someone digs deep and resurrects a classic like this, they can get lost in the mountain of music that has been posted here. Great to hear Elizc's Farewell again. Beautiful Robin.

Very pretty, and fantastic tone on that dulcimer.  :)

Dusty, yes, DAC.  The Sunhearth really is an exquisite instrument.  Though I don't really know how to fingerpick, I do know how to use a noter.  :)

This is really nice, Robin!  DAC tuning by any chance?  The minor modal sound has a haunting, melancholy to it, but your spirited picking and noter play keep things upbeat and moving. A really nice combination.

Robin, I'm glad you heard a lilt!  :) Sure wish I knew what to do to get a lilt in my play. . . I'm jealous of fiddlers who give expression to some pieces by inserting a lilting quality to phrases here and there

I played this on a Sunhearth-- a real treat to play!

Lexie, thank you, friend!  There are lots of players who fingerpick very well and they inspired me to try it, too.  My skill level isn't very high yet it's fun so I'll keep at it.

Thanks so much, Danny!  I hope to get back to working more on Elzic's Farewell again-- it is a lovely tune.
