This video was inspired by my neighbor's incredible Halloween display (thank you, Gayla!). It's my spin on "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" played on a baritone Mtn. Dulcimer. Even though the perplexed passerby's and slowing traffic made it difficult to get a usable take, it was a lot of fun to do this one!
Thank you very much, Kilderkin! I sure do appreciate that!
Thanks so much George and Hugssandi! I am so happy that you enjoyed it! I really appreciate you watching.
OMG, I love it!! What a great spin, a nice bluesy touch.
OH great playing!!!! ~and fun vid~
Hmm...that is most curious, Lexie! It makes me wonder if Smiley sings when he is alone? Thank you! It makes me very happy that you guys liked the video!
Chris, I would like that but Smiley will not sing live, he does not respond to my playing.
But he loves singing to recordings I think it is because I leave music on for him when I have to leave him alone.
We love it Chris!
Okay, Lexie, here's the thing....I need you to video you and Smiley making music together. Then I can show it to my dog, Toffee, so she can see what proper etiquette looks like. My telling her that it's very rude to leave the room when I pick up the dulcimer just isn't sinking in. (I would have loved to have Smiley add his deep howl to the vid! That would have been the perfect touch!)
Lisa, I am trying to get a video or picture, but when I touch my camera he stops.
We love listening to fiddle, banjo, guitar of coarse dulci, he loves to sing and lately after he eats he asks me to play music so he can sing. Some of the time when he doesn't add his bark and stays with an even howl, it all sounds pretty good.
His deep howl seemed to really add to the creativity Chris and her neighbor did here.
It was quite fun! My days revolve around making Smiley Smile....
Lexie, I'm sitting here imagining you listening to FOTMD videos in the morning and Smiley singing along to them... too funny!
Chris, I wanted to come back to see your video again, each morning I listen to music with Smiley (my dog) and he loves singing. Oh he added so much with his howling to your song.
Really enjoy your spirit!
☺
Good catch, Steven! Thanks so much for the wonderful compliment! I really appreciate you watching. So does Napoleon.
I cannot think of a better way to spend Halloween, Terry. I really like how you celebrate! Your costume sounds terrific, still, and now even more, I think the Knight is a very good fit for you. Just sayin'....
Christine
No knight for me, but thank you.😊. I'll dress all black, with black fedora. White shoes and gloves.
My wife and i, our daughter, and her 15 yr old twin girls, will treat the residents of two assisted living homes to a bag of goodies. One to each resident. Eighty-five bags.
Afterwards, we'll all go to my son's home for dome t &t. He goes all out, like your friend.
We have never had a trick or treater visit our home. Too far out, dark and scary.
😈
Loved it, Christine! Great playing, and a "hoot" to watch! BTW: Napoleon Bone-Apart???
Yay - a 2nd OMG! Thank you Terry!!! I am so glad you liked the video. No doubt that my neighbor jump started and inspired me to get into the fun spirit of Halloween. So...what will your costume be, Terry? I'm thinking a Knight would suit you perfectly!
That's great - thanks Ginney! Toe tapping is a response I love to hear!
Thank you, Benjamin!!!
Thank you, Lexie! I videoed it manually on my iPad as the remote wouldn't reach. Fine and dandy...except when I was playing back the numerous takes. When filming, I had to walk up to the camera to turn it off and on. The "on" wasn't so bad but the "off" with it's extreme close up of the mask...yikes! I about fell out of my chair! Haha!
Nice. I love it!
