It's been a long time since I heard this song and, as I recall, the version I have on a cd is too cheery for the song. Your deep-voiced instrument and your deep voice express the sadness of the song, Gordon. Nicely done!

Good morning Folks, here's an old cowboy love song that dates back to the time when Texas cattle were trailed north to stock ranches in Wyoming and Idaho and Montana, a little later than the first trail herds that were sent to Kansas for rail shipping. I first heard it sung by "The Roger Wagner Chorale" on an LP back in my distant childhood, always liked the tune. The cowboy singing this song happily remembers "Walking down through Laramie with Snagtooth Sal." "But she turned me down completely" -- by dying (!). He will die for love, and gives instructions for his own burial. A good song to isolate with during this COVID-19 thing. Please stay safe!!!
Well done, Gordon!
Thank you for your kindness, Steven.
Way to go, Gordon. Nice playing.
