Hi Jack.Good to hear you playing on your latest creation. The scheitholt you built for me is the most beautiful instrument I've ever played and I have played many.

Great added videos to show the differing effects, Jack. Thanks!

This video adds some reverb and delay to resemble an organ, or harpsichord. Farther Along .

Thanks Ken. I use little to no effects on the amplifier. It is used mainly for volume, and to provide a deeper tone. My videos usually provide a song without electric followed by the same song with electric. The additional volume and deeper tone do resemble an organ, or harpsichord.

Thanks for sharing this Jack. I agree with Lisa that it has a harpsichord like sound. Is that a function of the amplifier you are using or does the dulcimer actually sound like that when not plugged in? It's a beautiful sound.

Thanks Lisa. Simple Gifts, and Church Hymns, are my favorite dulcimer songs because I can imitate the organ I heard as a child. Here is a short clip on Simple Gifts on one of my 8-string Scheitholts.

Jack, i really like this. When you strum the full 'chords' on this electric it actually reminds me of the sound of a harpsichord... which is a fitting pairing with the traditional Shaker hymn tune.  Nice!
