Great to hear that tune..R.Burns although I doubt he made the tune-put some great lyrics to traditional music.

The tune was around at least 150 years before Burns got a hold of it.  The old title was "Put Up Thy Dagger Jamie", a political song first published in 1641.  But my guess is that the tune even predates that with some other well known song which has since fallen into obscurity, since political songs are generally parodies of earlier works.

Nice playing, Mark.  The version in the upper octave seems particularly challenging.
