What a great song. This is one of my favorites. I have downloaded the PDF and will pass it on to my group here in Lafayette, LA in the heart of Cajun country. Way to go Peter.

I love this, it was excellent. The hat was cool and there definitely need to be a version of the Yellow Rose of Texas. Hee Heee
'Twas a g'day when you got together on that. Sometime look up the Queensland version of the song, too. It's worth it and you might enjoy it as a bouncy middle section before returning to the more familiar one.
I have recorded this one as a mountain dulcimer solo before. Now we had Gottfried and Christine - two friends we know from the ukulele scene in Germany - as our guests. Gottfried and I recorded "Waltzing Matilda" today before they left - it was great to play together just by listening to each other, with somebody who was immediately able to understand the idea of my arrangement. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you, Patty, Cheryl and Joseph. I appreciate your comments!
This is wonderful Peter . Excellent!!! And you did this on one take. That's amazing. Thanks for posting. I enjoy your videos.
That was really great!! I love the sound of dulcimer and guitar....my two favorite instruments. Enjoyed it very much and thanks for tabbing it out!

Thank you all for your friendly comments, glad you like it!
@John Keane: If I ever do a recording of "The Yellow Rose of Texas", I'll wear the yellow hat. Promise! All I can do for you at the moment is this...
That was fantastic! Thank you so much for posting it.
Loved the solo, too. While the duo was definitely nice, I liked that the solo was so clear and easy to follow the dulcimer.
Nice and laid back...well done! I still miss the yellow hat...
That's really nice, Peter! You guys sound great together.
Thank you, Carrie and Wayne! Glad you like it, thanks for commenting!
Thanks, Lois!
Yes, I know that there is a Queensland version, but I haven't worked on that so far. But you're right, I should try it some day.
I recorded the solo in November 2012. It's also here on FOTMD (and on my YT channel, of course)!

Is there a way to catch your solo?
