There are so many pretty hymns and easily played on the dulcimer or stick dulcimer. I decided to try to do one easy one every Sunday for a while. This one's ...
Ha Ha! I didn't say I could sing it in German, you silly thing! I just wanted those whoCOULD to have the words! Do NOT look forward to singing any German duets with ME!!! Das ist komisch!
Jan you just paid me the highest compliment - that you want to sing and play along. And I want you too - if we can ever figure out how to do that split screen thing we can do that without leaving the comfort of home. Thanks, and thanks for the chats too.
Love this rendition, Cynthia! Nice tempo...not too rushed, as it's often done. I just wish I'd been sittin' beside you, playing harmony and singing a duet! Some day, maybe!
Guy that's a mighty generous statement for such a humble offering, but then again we know you are a generous guy anyway. I can't wait for it to hit my doorstep - making me a bit nuts, but you did all you could to get it here.
John thanks, I've enjoyed your videos so much. I'm going to at least try for the one a week, as long as I can find pretty ones I can actually play. Want to help get some things out there for the stick dulcimer crowd. Sometimes sitting in the position to play dulcimer hurts, and resting back in the Lazy Boy with the stick is becoming very addicting. I'm just getting started, to expect these to get jazzed up and rocked up before I'm through.
Thank you so much Cindy. Now I know about you and went to your lovely Come Thou Fount video - and on baritone no less! You have inspired me to try a simple version of this for the stick also. Good to meet you.

What a mouthful, but don't be shocked if I do it next. You're something else woman.
And...for our German friends....here are the verses In German: http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/Farther_Along@de.pdf

Thanks for In the Sweet Bye and Bye too.

I like the "one every Sunday" plan...good for you!
Lovely!
You were the inspiration, and thanks for supporting some of us fledglings...
Thank you for the video, Cynthia. Sounds great! Adding vocals definitely brings the song out.
