My rendition on Hummel of "HANOVER" by English composer William Croft (1677 - 1727), at one point just like Henry Purcell before him appointed Organist of Westminster Abbey. Used as the setting for"O Worship the King, All Glorious Above", written by Indian-born Robert Grant, who was a Govenor of Bombay (Mumbai) and a member of the Btitish parliament. His hymn was influenced by psalm 104 and was published in 1833. My friend Terry L. Watson built this Hummel in 1973. Jean Ritchie's "The Dulcimer Book" includes a 1917 photo of Otto Malmberg, one of the last Swedish Hummle players. Terry carved a bust of Otto for the head stock! A custom made box has protected it
Sounds really good, Gregg. It's a beautiful tune and well played. Thanks for sharing.
